Young Burlington Artist Succeeds

“Art in Action played a large role in getting me into Sheridan and setting me on this path. Next steps: improve my home studio, apply for grants and approach galleries and retailers interested in my work,” explained Jessica.

An excited young artist, Jessica Gneth, won the first scholarship for post secondary art education created by Burlington’s Art in Action in 2012. And 2018 is a special year for both Jessica and the artists forming Art in Action. She graduated from Sheridan College’s renowned Bachelor of Craft and Design degree majoring in the glass program. Her work is currently at the Sanda Ainsley Gallery in Toronto, one of Canada’s leading galleries in glass. The graduate show called “SIX” runs from May 6 to June 5, 2018. Jessica’s work explores transformation in kiln casted glass.
A sample of Jessica’s work will be at Teresa Seaton’s Glass Studio and Gallery during this year’s tour.

2018 scholarship applications are closed for this year. 2019 scholarship applications will be available in May of 2019.
